Astragalus, lat. Astragalus membranaceus (tragacanth) is an annual perennial from Asia that has found its place in traditional Chinese medicine. The roots of the astragalus are used there for general weakness, lack of energy and inflammation. The active ingredients of the plant increase energy production in the cells and give new strength. They stimulate the immune system and reduce inflammation, which is particularly noticeable in allergies of any kind with symptoms such as hay fever, burning eyes, rashes. The allergy symptoms are significantly reduced. The latest research has shown that the astragalus root can be helpful for type 2 diabetes, as it increases the responsiveness to insulin. Astragalus is also rich in important fatty acids, amino acids and minerals such as calcium, iron and selenium.
The root also reduces the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine, which has a positive effect on cholesterol levels.
Dosage: 1 capsule up to 2 x daily
